The present perfect continuous tense (also known as the present perfect progressive tense) shows that somewhat happening in the past and is current at the present time. The present perfect continuous is made using the creation has/have been + the present participle.
Forms of present Perfect Continuous
The present perfect continuous is formed using have/has + been + present participle.
Positive form:
subject+has/have+been+1st form of ing+object

  • ·        He has been sleeping for five hours.
  • ·        I have been watching the movie since 4 o’ clock.

Negative form:

subject+has/have+not+been+1st form of ing+object

  • ·        She has not been studying her books for ten days.
  • ·        I have not been meeting him since 2017.
  • ·        You have not been waiting here for three hours.
Question form:
has/have+subject+been+1st form of ing+since/for+object

  • ·        Has he been using his car for five years?
  • ·        Has she been studying for the exam since March 2018?
  • ·        Have you been waiting here for one hours?
